Visit Dubrovnik for chance to rub shoulders with the stars

Film fans may find the best way to get close to their heroes this summer is to book a holiday in Croatia.

The annual Libertas Film Festival in the country is always a meeting place for Hollywood A-listers, according to Meri Matesic, director at the Croatia National Tourist Office in London.

She offers Kevin Spacey as one example of a star to have taken a break in Croatia during the festival in previous years.

Mickey Rourke is another, having attended Libertas in 2009, while Nick Nolte enjoyed the event in 2007.

Booking accommodation in Croatia and showing up at the film festival may be the ideal way to spend a summer holiday for many movie enthusiasts.

Libertas is an opportunity for both native and worldwide film producers to showcase their latest productions.

It takes place in the southern city of Dubrovnik, a World Heritage site, between July 2nd and 6th.
