Visit 'the centre of the world' on Croatian holiday
09 March 2010Travellers to Croatia are able to visit what locals believe is the very centre of the planet.
After spreading a map of Earth out in a bid to pinpoint the middle, people in Ludbreg were surprised to find their town, in the north of Croatia, was the answer.
Ludbreg is ideally located for people on holiday in Zagreb to take a day trip to visit the centre of the world.
The town's claim to fame dates back to ancient times, when it was established that Ludbreg has just one rival to the title on the opposite side of the planet - the small island of Antipodes in the South Pacific.
Visiting a location with what some may consider an illustrious tag may rank high on the list of priorities for people travelling to Croatia.
It has been reported this week by the Zagreb Tourist Board that visitors to Zagreb can visit an art exhibition featuring 200 top paintings of urban life.
