White Christmas possibility could make Croatian holiday attractive

A holiday in Dubrovnik, Zagreb or Split could be growing more enticing by the day as the chance of a White Christmas in Croatia gets stronger.

Snow is already falling in the Balkan country, with as much as 35 cm being recorded yesterday (December 14th), according to the Croatian Times.

That could lead many to suspect that the prospect of a snowy December 25th is a realistic one.

With temperatures set to plummet to minus 15 degrees by the end of the week, it could take a significant warming if snow is not to fall on the festive season's most prestigious day.

Some of Croatia's mountainous regions - such as Lika and Gorski - are experiencing the heaviest sprinkling, the newspaper reveals.

Sljeme Mountain, popular with skiers, has enjoyed 15 cm of snowfall this week.

The Oxford Mail recently reported that the chances of a white Christmas in central England are "in the balance" - which could make a trip to the Adriatic coast all the more tempting.
