Will electric cars and bikes help holidaymakers explore Dubrovnik?
31 August 2010Those staying in accommodation in Dubrovnik in the future may have an eco-friendly option when it comes to exploring the ancient city.
Authorities are currently working towards providing electric transport, such as bikes and cars, to local people and tourists, the Croatian Times reports Jutarnji List as stating.
The publication explains Dubrovnik mayor Andro Vlahusic has told of plans to improve congestion in the resort by offering rental systems.
It is also said that bosses in the historic spot are thinking of making public transport entirely free for a week out of every month, which could be of great benefit to those taking a holiday.
Should the electric project take place, vehicles could be docked at free stations with solar chargers that would be erected around Dubrovnik, the news source notes.
Among the famous faces to have enjoyed a holiday in Croatia in recent weeks are former England football manager Sven Goran Eriksson and Hollywood star Morgan Freeman.
