Winter tourists heading to Croatia may want to consider budget break advice
20 October 2009Holidaymakers considering a budget winter break in Croatia may want to follow the advice of Marc Lockley, writing in the Guardian.
Croatia can be popular with snow-seekers looking for the chance to put their skis to good use over the colder months.
So Mr Lockley's advice is to take advantage of the low-cost ski holidays available and follow his tips to secure the best budget break possible.
Travellers should, he writes, budget only for necessities and refuse to overspend on ski equipment.
Booking as a group could also offer the opportunity to negotiate the price downwards.
And it is also important not to splash the cash on transport - asking experienced skiers for help and using cheaper buses and trains should offset the need for a car.
Croatia has built up a reputation as being great value for money - possibly because of its position outside the eurozone.
Earlier this month independent travel guide Croatia Traveller said that skiers heading for the country would find the slopes cheap to use, extremely fun and easy to deal with even as a beginner.
