Zagreb an 'up-and-coming destination'
19 August 2008Zagreb has today been named as a top upcoming destination.
The city featured in TravMedia.com's top ten growing areas, which was based on the number of bookings received through website Hostelworld.com.
Statistics released by the company show a 90 per cent growth in reservations made within the area since 2007.
The company names numerous attributes which attract visitors to travel to Zagreb.
Museums are at the forefront of the Croatian capital's appeal, with it having more than any other city in the world, it is claimed by TravMedia.com.
The city's medieval feel and architecture also feature in the article as prominent reasons for a trip to Croatia.
Meanwhile, the research figures are backed up by statistics recently released by the Zagreb tourist board, reported by Javno.com.
The findings of the study showed a rise in holidaymakers visiting the city, with more than 63,000 doing so in July, representing a four per cent increase on numbers for the same time period in 2007.
