Zagreb getting ready for urban culture festival
29 April 2009The Croatian capital is gearing up for the forthcoming IDES International Festival of Urban Culture, with the historic city to be home to some of the finest contemporary acts for three days in June.
As reported by the Croatian Times, the festival is due to take place between 19th and 21st June.
Organisers in Zagreb have now started to announce the line-up, which will comprise a mixture of local acts alongside international performers.
Among those already confirmed for the three-day event are electronic and rock musicians such as TBF, Antentat, Mikrofonija, Picksiebner, Bas Mooy, Mary, Ogi, Teo Harouda, Astralis, who will perform at venues across the city, which continues to be a popular choice of day trip for tourists enjoying a Crotian villa holiday in the surrounding region.
Alongside the stellar musical line-up, this year's festival will also feature a programme of extreme sports, with visitors to be treated to displays of BMX and Inline skating against the backdrop of some of the finest architecture in Europe.
Other major festivals taking place in Zagreb each year include the ZagrebDox documentary film festival, as well as the annual lower show, Floraart.
